I love this feeder. It is easy to set up and use. I adore the recording feature. I've seen my kitty run to the feeder after hearing me call his name. My fiance and I are unfortunately on the road quite a bit and we are unable to be at home all the time to make sure my kitty is fed, but this feeder gives me so much comfort knowing he will be fed his 1/4 cup of food twice a day whether I am home or not. Thank you so much for giving me the peace of mind it means so very much.
Bought this for when we are away for vacation so I haven't use it long enough to see what pro and cons about it. I tested it to make sure it works. Setup is pretty easy. To bypass the scheduled feeding, you need to unlock it first, then press the Manual button (one time for one portion, etc).I made mistake by putting the feeder where ants could reach it, and I found some ants went up the main storage. I still need to figure out to solve this problem.Cat seems interested with this feeder, which a good sign because I got it a fountain water bowl and it wouldn't even come close to it.The recorded voice is pretty loud. Unless this feeder is far away from you, do not schedule it on your sleep time.
The thing I like most about this is it doesn't require an app and servers to schedule feedings. We had a PetNet feeder for awhile, but PetNet basically killed all support for the device during COVID. That expensive feeder because a glorified push-button feeder; app was no longer accessible, and you need it to schedule feedings. No complaints about this feeder we purchased. Works fine, and we will never have to worry about apps or servers since scheduling is built right into the feeder. Haven't tested the voice recordings yet.
I have purchased automatic feeders in the past from another well known and respected manufacturer but after my brother was impressed with his Petlibro feeder I gave one a try, but was worried that the lower cost would mean an inferior product. Now that my 4 liter feeder has been up and running for over a week I'm pleased with my decision. I was immediately impressed from the start with the presentation and packaging. I realize this doesn't make a great product, but it was a good beginning. Our cat is one that would like to be a bit over weight and I normally weigh each portion of dry food to the gram before loading into his previous carousel feeder, so I was concerned that I might not be able to adjust the Petlibro portion control appropriately. I filled the Petlibro and cycled it dozens of times to determine how many dispensed portions it would take to accurately approximate the cat’s normal daily food amount. I was able to come to within 2 grams of what I was feeding per day when I was weighing the food. I then divided the number of required dispensed portions to determine how many portions to program for each feeding (I used 4 feedings per day). I’m happy to report that both the cat and I are quite pleased with this feeder.
I don’t have much experience using any other sort of automatic cat feeder. That being said this PETLIBRO one is absolutely easy to set up and use. The instruction manual is short and to the point, and so is the rest of the machine. Took me all of 5 minutes to set it up. When I ordered I didn’t see anything about batteries but be prepared to install 3 D sized batteries during setup. The portion sizes range from 1-10, I have a fairly average sized cat and so far I’ve only had to use portion size 1, twice a day and there’s still food left in the bowl at the end of the night.I’ve sent all 8 different types of cat food through it, all various sizes and dimensions, I’ve had no issues with the food causing any blockage or anything like that. It’s been smooth sailing so far.
