Wi-Fi Smart Lock - Secure Screen

It is not often that I write reviews. But I want to mention that I feel that the Kwikset 99390-001 Halo Wi-Fi Smart Lock is one of the best devices I have ever bought. Installation was easier, but getting the code to activate the app was tricky. I tried sending the code to my Hotmail account about 6 times, but for some reason, I never got the code. When I tried Gmail account, I got it the very first time. One thing I like the most about the lock is that I was able to set up the Auto-Lock feature which locks the lock after 5 mins. Auto Lock delay can be set for 30 Seconds, 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes. No more finding an unlocked door in the morning. Now I feel very safe. This will help keep the house secure. The app also allows to add 250 users with different codes and 10 members of admins that can use their phones to open the door. It also alerts you. Basically, the lock can be opened using the key, code or phone. The phone also works as lock as you have a network connection. I We have been using it 3 days now, 40 times a day (there are 6 of us at home) and the battery is still showing 100%. I love it and highly recommend this lock.

So I wanted to wait a couple of months to write this review because of all of the negative reviews I read while researching smart locks. First of all I was very timid about buying for that reason. I read reviews that the batteries don't last a month......going on 3 months and I haven't needed to replace them once. I read that the app takes forever too load.....not true. Not only does it open quickly but I have it integrated with my Alexa with no problems. I also read that when an update happens you have to re do all of you codes again....I just had an update and all my codes are intact. The one downfall and the only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I am not able to sync my codes with my girlfriends phone whom I share the account with. I bought this to replace a Schlage smart lock that I couldn't stand so not only does the this lock do everything it says...except the sync I would not hesitate to buy this product again!!

Purchased a new house from Lennar November 2019. This house was supposed to have a smart front door lock, and they did have a kwikset lock on the door, but it would not attached to Alexa or WIFI with out a z based hub. I fought with Lennar for a year and finally during Prime Days I purchased this Halo Lock and LOVE IT. I can see from anywhere in the world the status of the lock. I can see how it was last unlocked or locked and by providing personalized codes I can tell who last unlocked the lock, including Alexa. And of course it has the ability to rekey which is why I first started using Kwikset locks. I would purchase this lock again!

This is the perfect lock at a vacation rental. Installation and configuration was a breeze. After using for over a month, feel the investment in this lock was well justified.Current Use: Vacation rental with key access to users. WiFi connected and logging and monitoring activity on app. Bluetooth and WiFi locking/unlocking for select users and contractors. Remote monitoring. Google app and IFTTT integration for status checks and automation.Pros: Easy Installation and configuration; Simple App with good UI; WiFi connectivity is stable; Notifications of lock activity in app; Downloadable lock history; Rekeying is easy. Secure screen is a nifty feature. User code addition is easy on app.Cons: Battery life is iffy (@30% in one month); App home page is not configurable and opens to lock/unlock button by default (could accidentally lock or unlock remotely causing issues for renters).

Have had the Smart Lock Keyless Entry by Kwikset installed on my front entry for a few months and it is working great. Husband installed with minimal complaint. Setting up the wifi and app was a bit confusing- make sure to set up individual accounts for each user on the app since you can assign who has "admin" privileges. Kwikset smart key was easy to use to adjust the key to another Kwikset lock. Was a bit concerned with reviews saying this didn't work in cold environments as our home has snow on the ground for the winter. We haven't had any issues with response on the key pad. App is slow to load on my Samsung phone, and takes a bit to connect when using that as the method to unlock/lock the bolt. This items does what we hopes and looks great!
