Wi-Fi Smart Lock - Auto Lock & Unlock

At first I was hesitant to trust a Battery operated Door Lock, I looked at all of them and liked the idea of having a backup key entry just in case of a problem. This Yale Door Lock has been Awesome from day one installation, I keep the Batteries changed when I feel they need to be refreshed and the keypad works awesome with fast Opening and closing. The App on the phone works great on Wi-fi and with Internet, I live in Manhattan and have unlocked the Door for my Kids from Miles away at work, and it alerts me when my Door is open for longer then it takes to walk in and close. Definitely Recommend, lock is built strong.

This is designed for people who want to integrate the Yale smart lock within the August ecosystem and also gives HomeKit and Alexa support to the device.If you aren’t familiar, the Yale family of smart locks supports interchangeable modules that support zwave, zigbee, HomeKit, and now August/HomeKit/Alexa. Each solution costs around $79 which isn’t cheap, but I like that you can change smart ecosystems without having to replace the entire lock.The August ecosystem requires a separate module for EACH lock for external access within 10 feet of each lock, because they only operate on short distance blutoorh communication. This is good because each command comes directly from Your phone to the device without “bouncing to the cloud first” but you can’t let in people from more than 10 feet away without the device. The reviewed kit includes this device for external access.A couple of features I really like about August: the door open/close sensor is really nice, because other locks only let you know they are locked; not if the are actually closed! Also, the August can be set up to unlock by proximity (hands free unlocking with phone an option) and this addresses some painful app experiences I have had with an othesiee great Yale lock experience (I have 2 other Yale smart locks).Notes: if you only want HomeKit and not August: you can get a cheaper HomeKit bundle and won’t need to have a separate module plugged in 10 feet from the lock.

I install a lot of these.... I own lots of rentals, and manage them as well...Yale is now my go to for electronic locks!this lock is the swiss army knife of locks...it does just about everything you can ask for....phone compatible with app, works with all the major communications devices, like Alexa, zwave, etc.it has the most combos, nearly impossible to break the code with 6 digits...another reviewer mentioned mediocre Yale tech support...interesting, so far, Yale tech support has been as good as most, including schlage.Love the safety features built into this lock, such as the 9v battery bottom prongs, never run out of power...overall, if u are high tech, this is the lock to get!if u are NOT overly techie, there is much lower cost options, even from Yale...Yale web site is superb, read up before making decision....

Easy to use digital security lock. I like that the design blends in perfectly with my kwik*et brand front door hardware. Simple design, with an easy to use touchscreen so you never have to worry about losing your keys. There is also the option to install the bluetooth sensor that detects when you are near the door (senses your smartphone) and automatically opens the door for you. I don't feel the need to use that part since the keyless entry using the touchscreen is simple enough.

I was skeptical to buy this particular lock package with the August app because of the other negative and positive reviews whereas I didnt know what to believe so I took a chance and bought it and I am glad I did...Every aspect of the installation was easy, I just followed the detailed directions between the instructions from the box and the August app and setup with Alexa was done even away from home via the app..So far I am happy with this package and hopefully it stays that way. One suggestion I would say is that when you first setup your master password/code don't setup any other codes for other users until the August app is downloaded and synced with the lock if not you will have to repeat that process again. Other than that I recommend it to anyone who has a front door, back door that meets all the measurement requirements for the Yale Deadbolt.
